Introduction to Events for Kids in Markham – Ongoing Events
Here are some events for kids in Markham and surrounding areas – for other events see our weekly events blog!
ROM Kids Show – Tuesdays 2pm

Kicking off the Events for Kids in Markham list – it’s the ROMKids Show! Join Kiron Mukherjee, ROMKids Camp Director, every week for stories of science, art, and history. We talk with special ROM experts about everything from dinosaurs to mummies, citizen science to water equity, and often get crafty (and sometimes messy!) with art projects and science experiments. It’s half an hour that’s fun for toddlers, perfect for kids, and beloved by the adults isolated with them!
You can tune into the ROMKids Show every Tuesday at 2:00 pm EST on Instagram Live on the @ROMToronto account. Missed it live? Find all the episodes on the ROMKids Show webpage and on YouTube.
Arctic Reading Circle Read Aloud Programme – Tuesday & Wednesday 5pm

The Arctic Reading Circle is hosting afterschool virtual read-alouds for kids ages 6 to 9 who wish to read books in a group setting. They will be reading a range of books (picture books and short chapter books). Kids can choose to sit back and listen or volunteer to read aloud. Sessions will be moderated by our mentors and teachers.
Due to school starting virtually in the fall, we wanted to create a virtual space to allow children to enjoy listening to stories together and to develop a passion for reading. We hope to help lift off some of the pressures from parents who are working at home and to introduce kids to some fun and beloved stories.
We offer both French Read Alouds and English Read alouds
