Introduction to Victoria Manor – Jennings Gate Community

The Victoria Manor – Jennings Gate community is mainly a residential neighbourhood mainly comprising large mansions and semi-detached brick homes. Smaller communities usually have a great community feeling and this neighbourhood is true to form. People love living here, read on to find out why!
Location

The Victoria Manor- Jennings Gate community occupies land to the east of the Cathedraltown neighbourhood. The northern boundary lies north of Rinas Avenue and the southern boundary is Major Mackenzie Drive. The eastern boundary runs along the Rouge river tributary (just west of Warden Avenue). The western boundary runs along Victoria Square Boulevard and Woodbine Avenue.

The homes in this neighbourhood vary greatly in size. Most of the homes in Victoria Manor were built after 2005. They are semi-detached or link-detached homes that are 3 to 4-bedroom homes and occupy modest sie lots. They are mainly brick homes with porches, and some have garages at the rear. On the flip side, Jennings Gate has more estate-size lots and larger detached homes and mansions. Most homes in Jennings Gate have varied styles as each has been largely custom-built. Most have grand entrances and there are a few homes with Neo-Colonial style front pillars. In recent years some of these homes have been bought and either replaced or renovated into very modern-style homes.
Transport & Commuting

This community is in northern Markham, and the nearest Go stations are Richmond Hill and Unionville. These stations are around a 15-minute drive in opposite directions. Most people here do have cars to get around. However, it is possible to use transit as Warden Avenue is an arterial road and is a short walk from most of the homes in the neighbourhood
Shopping in Victoria Manor – Jennings Gate Community

Although the neighbourhood does not have its own shopping plaza, there is a plaza nearby. On the corner of Major Mackenzie Drive and Woodbine, there is a plaza with two big box stores. Additionally there are banks, fast food restaurants and other small businesses.
Parks & Recreation

There are two parks in this neighbourhood – here is a list:
- Vine Cliff Park/John Payne Park – a well-treed park with a small children’s playground, a gazebo, splash pad, lots of green space, a path that circles the field, and a trailhead running along Otter Tail Creek.
- Joseph Ellerby Park – green space with a children’s playground.
The nearest community centre is Victoria Square Community Centre. Some of the amenities there is a community hall for hire with kitchen facilities and a stage for performances. Additionally, the Angus Glen Community Centre is a 5-minute drive away. This centre offers a library, tennis courts, gymnasium, fitness centre, pool and 2 ice arenas.
