Donne Roberts Concert – April 14th – Newmarket Town Hall – 7.30pm

Donné Roberts is a passionate performer. When he hits the stage he carries with him an energy that immediately exhilarates the crowd even if they’ve never heard his music before. Donné performs mainly in Malagasy his mother tongue from his birthplace of Madagascar. Yet this never proves to be a barrier to the audience, providing living proof that music truly does transcend languages.
The doors open for ticket holders at 6:00 p.m. The Donne Roberts Band will perform two sets between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available till 10:00 p.m. Free parking is available.

XOXO Downsview – Until Sept 30th – Downsview Park

XOXO Downsview is a celebration of public art, culture and local heritage, launched in coordination with ArtworxTO: Toronto’s Year of Public Art 2021-2022. It involves dynamic installations, murals, multimedia works and an audio walking tour of the Downsview Lands and Downsview Park. The project highlights local artists, and aims to bring people together and highlight the history and potential of Downsview as a destination and generator of cultural works.

Cirque du Soleil – KURIOS – April 14th – July 17th – Ontario Place, Toronto

Toronto Zoo Spring Marketplace – April 15th – 17th

Immerse yourself in the change of the season with the return of the Toronto Zoo Marketplace this April Long Weekend! Beginning on April 15th the Toronto Zoo’s Front Courtyard will transform into our first-ever Spring Marketplace, showcasing some of your favourite artisans, processors, and producers from the 2021 Holiday Marketplace, alongside some new vendors from our community!

Celtic Illusion Show – April 19th @ 7.30pm – Oshawa

Fusing contemporary Irish Dance with magic and grand illusions, Celtic Illusion features a cast of champion and internationally acclaimed dancers, including performers from both Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. Displaying some of the fastest taps in the world, the dancers’ thunderous rhythm fills the stage in perfect unison.
Celtic Illusion is led by Australia’s Anthony Street, the first Australian to perform leading roles in Michael Flatley’s widely-acclaimed Lord of the Dance, including the very role that Michael Flatley originally performed himself. Since its premiere in 2011, Celtic Illusion has played to sold-out audiences all across Australia and recently completely sold out a tour in Canada.
Celtic Illusion features a new soundtrack composed by a team including Angela Little (co-composer of Baz Luhrman’s film Australia), Steve Skinner (arranger and producer for artists such as Celine Dion, Stevie Wonder and the Broadway musical Rent), and Michael Londra (Emmy® nominated singer and producer).

Guided Nature Walk – Scarborough Museum – April 16th and 17th – 2pm

Explore Thompson Memorial Park with TRCA this Easter weekend, and learn about pollinators, ravine wildlife, and other cool nature things that you may encounter at The Meadoway and Highland Creek.

Great Lakes Ecosystem Lecture Series – Online Event April 20th – 7pm

Join Michelle from the Toronto Zoo’s Great Lakes Program, for a two-part lecture series about the Great Lakes region.
This 45-minute presentation will serve as an introduction to the Great Lakes – a vital resource of freshwater and biodiverse habitat supporting some 3,500 species. Delve deeper into an unsung hero of freshwater ecosystems – Ontario’s 41 species of freshwater mussel – and the research being conducted by the Great Lakes Program in this area. This program is for adults.

Setting the Tone Like Emily Carr – Online Art Workshop – April 19th & 20th – various times

Colour can sometimes suggest mood or meaning in an artwork. In this
workshop, students aged from kindergarten to Grade 8 will practice using colour to create emotion while exploring Emily Carr’s use of colour tones in her painting, Nirvana, on display now at the Varley Art Gallery.

Earthbound Tots – Spring Drop-in Day – April 18th – 9.30am

Earthbound Tots is back for Spring 2022! Parents, grandparents and caregivers with young children can enjoy the fresh outdoors in a farm setting. Meet our friendly farm animals, play in our kid’s playground, and get creative with a nature craft.

Easter Hop-penings – Whitchurch Stouffville Museum – Apri 16th – 10am

Hop on by to the museum for this family favourite event! Join in an Easter egg hunt in the heritage buildings, enjoy some Victorian lawn games, and visit the craft station to get creative. Tickets include a family photo station with a photographer.
