Super Bike Double Header Weekend – Aug 12th – 14th – Canadian Tire Mosport Park

Canada’s top motorcycle riders take over CTMP’s legendary Grand Prix circuit with a unique three-feature race format for the Canadian National Superbike Championship (CSBK) (one race Saturday and two Sunday) to decide the championship. Titles will also be on the line in other pro and amateur national classes.
Be sure to visit the paddock areas, located on the circuit infield at the north end near the start/finish straight. Access to the paddock is included with your event ticket purchase. Bring your marker, autograph book, and camera because you’ll have excellent opportunities to meet and speak with the riders. Perseid Meteor Shower – In the Sky – until Aug 24th

When Earth crosses the orbit of Swift-Tuttle, a comet that orbits the Sun every 133 years, the debris cloud of Swift-Shuttle hits Earth’s atmosphere. The debris travel at around 59 kilometres per second and peak temperatures can reach anywhere from 1600 to 5500 deg C, thus burning up as they speed across the sky and causing the celestial spectacle of a multitude of shooting stars. Even though the meteors are part of Swift-Tuttle, it is called Perseids Meteor Shower, because they appear to originate from the Perseus constellation.
