Model Railroad Club of Toronto 85th Anniversary Show – Feb 26th – 11am

Model Railroad Club of Toronto celebrates its 85th Anniversary this year!
Since 1938 the Club has welcomed thousands of visitors to Canada’s premier O-scale model railroad. From its start in Harry Ebert’s basement, the Club moved to Union Station, Liberty Village, and now resides in East York.
Inspired by the Central Ontario Railway, the railway captures the flavour of Central Ontario including industries and natural features by naming passenger cars after towns along the original route.
The Club appeals both to a child’s sense of wonder and discovery and an adult’s interest in technology, artistry, and history. Trains pass through cities, towns and countryside of the Central Ontario Railway, popping in and out of tunnels and crossing over bridges. Visitors can explore innovations in techniques from hand-crafted models to 3D printing. The club uses true-to-life (prototypical) switching, signals, and dispatching of passenger and freight trains, which are controlled digitally, and connected with wifi.

Pups For Paws Event – Valleyview Gardens – Feb 26th – 12pm

Escape the winter blues at Valleyview Gardens, where we’ll have an indoor dog park, plant-inspired photo booths, and a doggy vendor market.
Valleyview Gardens and Markham Dog Association are working together to throw the ulti-mutt party to bring families who have or love dogs together while donating the full proceeds of ticket sales to the rescue: Save Our Scruff!
Join us Sunday, February 26th at Valleyview Gardens where (for one day only) they will have an indoor dog park as well as multiple plant/flower-themed photobooths! Medium/Large (20lbs or more) sized dogs are invited to come from 12pm-2pm, and Small sized dogs (20lbs or less) are invited to attend from 2pm-4pm.
Take a stroll through our ‘plant and dog themed’ vendor market, and support local with anything that catches your eye (or your dog’s nose – there will be treats).
Our major sponsor, Ren’s Pets will be on site with a themed photo booth, treats for the dogs, and a bunch of free giveaways!
Visit the Save our Scruff booth so you can meet and greet their incredible team and see how the money we raise through this event, will go to help dogs!
This is a dog-friendly event, but bringing your dog is optional. The ideal dog for our events are dogs who are already socialized, do not excessively bark, and are calm in crowds. It is recommended you take your dog for a walk prior to the event to use up some of their energy and make sure they are entering the greenhouse with their ‘business’ settled outdoors. You are responsible for cleaning any business your dog may try to gift to the greenhouse.
We will have water bowls and poop bags around the event space – it is best to feed your dog prior to attending as well.
What do you get with a ticket purchase?
1. A $10 donation to Save Our Scruff
2. $10 gift voucher to Ren’s Pets Stouffville
3. Free digital access code to LocalPaws Magazine’s Premiere Issue
4. Entry for one dog and one person
*Receive vouchers/codes upon arrival at event
