Wintersong Winter Music Festival – Various locations Stouffville – Jan 20th & 21st

Wintersong Music Festival has officially announced the headliners for their 4th edition, taking place, January 20th – 21st, 2023 in Stouffville, ON. The annual festival draws thousands to the local area in the shoulder season of Winter giving a much-needed boost to the local economy.
Wintersong will be headlined by Montreal indie-pop band, Stars; two-time JUNO award-winning musician, Dan Mangan; and the 80’s new wave/synth-pop band Men Without Hats.
They will be joined by 2022 Polaris shortlisted OMBIIGIZI – a collaboration between Zoon’s Daniel Monkman and Status/Non-Status’ Adam Sturgeon; and local indie-folk band Man Made Forest.
Also announced were indie buzz acts Hollowsage, Jerome Tucker Band, Junestone, and Stouffville’s own Evan Farrell. They will be joined by 100+ acts, performing across 15+ venues over the two days including local restaurants, bars, theatres, cafés, and retail spaces.

Coach Dave Love Shooting Clinic – Stouffville Secondary School – Jan 22nd – 9am

Coach Dave Love has been the Shooting Coach for NBA teams including the Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Orlando Magic, and created these clinics in 2001 to share the same teaching points with young basketball players. Players will be taught the What’s, Why’s, and How’s of shooting fundamentals and will hear stories of the work NBA players have done to improve.
This clinic will be run personally by NBA Shooting Coach Dave Love. The drills that players do will be the same drills that NBA players do on a daily basis, and the teaching points will be the same teaching points NBA players get.
The clinic will start with simple ideas and simple drills, and build throughout the day. Players will learn how to isolate bad habits and layer drills to improve their habits. There will be no direct competition between players.

Informed by a background in engineering, woodworking, and visual art, Trueman’s work for this show includes video, sound, kinetic sculpture, and reclaimed natural materials, which work in concert to present a more-than-human perspective on forest life cycles. voices in a cool wet darkness transform the gallery with monumental, resonant tree trunks, artworks that move and warble, and a recent video that offers an alternative vantage point on our shared landscape.
