Embroidered Lavender Teddy Bear Workshop – Aanin Public Library – Nov 12th – 4.30pm

Join us for our fun embroidery and sewing workshop. It is meant for beginners, so both kids and adults are welcome.
By the end of this 2-hours workshop, you will have created your own soft linen Teddy Bear embroidered and filled with raw organic lavender flowers and soft polyester.
This project is simple for adults and kids who won’t sit for long. Our workshop is divided into three phases:
- Embroidering (choose your own from 120 colours of thread or use our suggestion)
- Sewing (don’t worry – it’s on us)
- Stuffing (the funniest and most enjoyable part!)
What’s included in the price?
People are often reluctant to try new skills because of the cost of materials and equipment needed to start with. With this in mind, we will provide all your materials and equipment. All you need to bring is a lot of enthusiasm!
Is this project just for kids?
Never! It’s for everyone!
There are no complicated stitches here, so whether you are a confident stitcher or not, you’ll be able to complete a piece during the workshop.
Embroidery is the art of decorating fabric with threads using a variety of stitches and colours. In the good old days, we learned the basics of simple hand embroidery like chain stitch, blanket stitch, and cross stitch as a matter of course, but these are rare skills now. Embroidery is an ancient craft dating back to the 5th Century BC.
The benefits of hand embroidery for people of different ages are proven. It is a great way to practice mindfulness and an awesome creative outlet too. In children, it develops hand-eye coordination and helps in fostering patience and maintaining composure.
