Remembrance Day Service & Parade
Markham District Veterans Association - Nov 11th - 9.45am

The Markham District Veterans Association will be observing Remembrance Day on Saturday, November 11th, 2023.

Details:
9:45AM: Service at the MDVA Veterans Hall (7 Washington Street, Markham)
10:20AM: Parade from the MDVA to the Markham Village Veterans Square and Cenotaph
10:45AM: Ceremony and laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph

Main Street Markham will be closed from Center Street to Highway 7 and from Highway 7 to Albert Street  on Saturday November 11th from 9AM to Noon for the Annual Remembrance Day Parade.

Remembrance Day Ceremony - Millenium Bandstand
Nov 11th - 10.30am

The Unionville BIA will hold a ceremony including short speeches and a wreath laying at the
cenotaph. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 AM at the Millennium Bandstand followed by a

short march north to the cenotaph for the remainder of the service.

Main Street will be closed from Carlton Road south to Fred Varley Drive from 10.30am – Noon.

Volunteer Program - Markham - Nov 11th

t York Region Educational Services (YRES), we rely on the help of our volunteers to help provide the services we offer. This means that our volunteers take on a very important role in our organization. Our company mainly focuses on hosting different educational events and camps. Since there are many aspects to running this business, we offer a wide range of positions to our volunteers from web development to social media management. Nonetheless, you will be gaining extensive work experience and reinforcing your applicable skills. This opportunity requires you to help out at the in-person events we run on Sundays from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Our previous and current volunteers have had a great experience working with us because of the supportive and safe work environment we strive to uphold.
