Kindred Spirits Orchestra presents: War & Peace

Inspired by Maurice Maeternick’s essay “The Life of Bees,” Stravinsky’s Scherzo fantastique uses ‘extensive chromatic constructs to depict life and activity in a hive of bees. For the 110th anniversary of the composer’s birth, Member of the Order of Canada and of the Order of Ontario Christina Petrowska Quilico performs Witold Lutosławski’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra—praised as one of the finest piano concertos of the twentieth century. Arthur Honegger’s Symphony No. 3, “Liturgique” was composed shortly after the Second World War; with movements titled after liturgical topics, Honegger’s extensive commentary describes the work as a reflection on the horrors of war and the desire for peace.

After Dark Spooky Festival - Brooks Farms Uxbridge

  • Brooks Farms After Dark takes over our former spooky nights (which was geared towards younger kids). We will now offer a spooky evening of fun, with haunts, live entertainment, performers, wagon rides and more! Great fun for the whole family. We have entire forest for trick or treating for the younger kids. As well as two new haunts in our sunflower maze and corn field for the braver souls.

  • Walk through the Spooky Forest full of skeletons, witches, and ghouls – and when you reach the end, collect your trick – or – treat!

The Venue

Hillary House, the Koffler Museum of Medicine, is a house built in the Gothic Revival style, now in use as a museum. Built in 1862, Hillary House in Aurora, Ontario, is recognized by the National Historic Sites and Monuments Board as one of the best examples of Gothic Revival architecture in Canada.
