Johnny Starkes and Sagen Pearse head up the musical entertainment at Markham Museum – 9350 Markham Road. Johnny is a singer/songwriter native to Hare Bay, Newfoundland and Sagen is a singer/songwriter from Sault Ste. Marie. Both are excellent musicians! Bring some friends, lawn chairs and a blanket and join the crowd! The art workshop will be led by Sara Mozafari an Iranian-Canadian interdisciplinary artist.

Labour Day Cruise – Sept 5th – 5pm

Welcome to our annual Labour Day holiday cruise night at 2900 Major Mackenzie Drive East. Featuring The 45’s band! Some great classic cars and some great car aficionado camaraderie. We will be having our usual 50/50 draw with proceeds going to Jumpstart charity. There will also be door prizes and a car-of-the-week plaque. Labour Day Weekend Sprints – Canadian Tire Motorsports Park – Sept 2nd-4th

The Labour Day Sprints features the NASCAR Pinty’s Series in the penultimate round of Canada’s national stock car championship. Four other road racing series round out the three-day weekend schedule: the Nissan Sentra Cup, Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin, Emzone Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin and the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship.
The weekend’s main attraction is the on-track competition, but there are plenty of other things for you to see and do as well. Be sure to visit the team paddock areas, located on the circuit infield at the north end near the start/finish straight. All the team transporters, cars, crews and drivers are based there, and access to the paddock is included with your event ticket purchase.
Bring your marker, autograph book, and camera because you’ll have excellent opportunities to meet and speak with the drivers.

Toronto Labour Day Parade 2022 – Sept 5th

A return to our famous in-person Labour Day parade 2022! As this is the 150th anniversary of labour taking to the streets in Toronto, our theme this year is “150 Years Together”. That tradition continues, and 150 years later, we will gather in downtown Toronto again to demonstrate and celebrate the strength and power of labour with 20,000 members. The 150th anniversary of Labour marching in the streets of Toronto is important to unions and working people. After two years of COVID – with one year of virtual Labour Day, and a second year of a Labour Day on wheels – let’s take to the streets in huge numbers!

Canadian International Air Show – Toronto’s Waterfront Sept 3rd-5th

The Canadian International Air Show (CIAS) is returning to Toronto’s waterfront over the Labour Day weekend from September 3-5, 2022. This year’s show will feature an exciting line-up of talent, including the fantastic Northern Stars, a Polaris from 8 Wing Trenton, the might Hercules and Kyle Fowler & The Long EZ.
Please note: Snowbirds will not be performing this year.

Canada’s Wonderland Labour Day Fireworks – Sept 4th

Canada’s Wonderland will present its spectacular fireworks display when the Park closes at 10:00 pm (weather permitting). Spend your day enjoying our 200 attractions, including our 17 roller coasters and then settle in for an explosive fireworks display.
Each of our fireworks shows has a unique, custom-design set to an original soundtrack that you won’t find anywhere else in Toronto! It’s a great way to end a fun day at the park.
More than 375 people-hours go into designing and mounting the show, with 11 separate firing positions and 1,800 firing cues creating a spectacular display above the park skyline and our iconic Wonder Mountain.
For approximately 15 minutes, you’ll witness more than 6,000 colourful explosions, reaching heights of over 800 feet, which is sure to ignite thrills for guests of all ages.
Please note that the fireworks start at approximately 10:00 pm. Certain rides are subject to close early on these dates.
