This week we have some great spooky events on our doorstep (and some a little further away if you don’t mind driving!). Markham Fair is back – albeit not in full, but we are taking (and grateful for) what we can get these days! There is live music, fairies and a live stream at Flato Theatre – we hope you enjoy your week!
Markham Fair in a Flash 30th Sept – 3rd Oct

In their 177th year, the Markham and East York Agricultural Society presents a one-direction walk-thru event that will feature:
- Farm animals
- Agricultural displays
- Tractors and other farming implements
- Barnyard Performance Zone
- Static Monster Truck Display
- Homecraft and community straw bale competitions
- Farmers market
- Fair food and more!
With everyone’s safety in mind, capacity will be limited to allow for social distancing, masks are required and tickets must be purchased online in advance. There are two other ways you can participate in Markham Fair in a Flash. You can enter and compete in one of the 33 classes listed in the prize book. You could also enter the Community Straw Bale Competition.

Carlaw in Concert with The Mess Jesters – Station Plaza Main Street Markham – Oct 1st – 5pm-8pm

The 2021 Carlaw in Concert season continues on Friday, October 1st with The Mess Jesters live at the Station Plaza, sponsored by Carlaw Music and Cupcake Junkies, with additional support from other Station Plaza retailers. The festivities and live music will run from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm (weather permitting), outdoors at the Station Plaza, across from the GO Station on Main Street in Markham. Bring your family, your friends and your masks and join the celebration of music, community and friends.

Halloween Nights of Lights – Oct 1st – Oct 31st

Horror Hallways at Hillcrest Mall – Fri/Sat/Sun through October

Horror Hallways makes a terrifying return for the 2021 season with a much scarier haunted maze than ever before.. Adventure down pitch-black hallways and come face to face with the many demons that lurk in the shadows! Not recommended for young children. Enter if you dare.

Pickering Fairy Tours – Pickering Museum – October & November

Pickering’s picturesque forest, village, and gardens are home to not only some incredible natural creatures but also some magical creatures. Locate and visit a series of whimsical fairy, elf, and gnome homes scattered in the village and forest and learn about the history and folklore of the magical creatures of the forest. Pickering’s Fairy Tour is an opportunity to see their world up close. If you are looking to unleash your inner fairy, you can also make your very own fairy wand. Haunted Hollows Scream Park – East Gwillimbury – Oct 1st – 31st

Haunted Hollows Scream Park is what your Halloween fears are made of.
