Markham Arts Council Live Music Event – 12th Aug – 12.30pm

As part of their ‘Artist Unplugged’ series, Markham Arts Council presents Raisa Orshansky and Victor Kott, SOCAN and PARMA recording artists of the Original Impressions Duo! These two perform folk, klezmer, classical and popular music live on Thursday.

Free Sundays at Bata Shoe Museum

If you want to take a trip downtown, make a note that the Bata Shoe Museum has free admission on Sundays all the way through to September 26th! If you haven’t been it is a fabulous place and well worth a visit! The Museum celebrates the style and function of footwear in four impressive galleries. Footwear on display ranges from Chinese bound foot shoes and ancient Egyptian sandals to chestnut-crushing clogs and glamourous platforms. Over 4,500 years of history and a collection of 20th-century celebrity shoes are reflected in the semi-permanent exhibition, All About Shoes. Three other galleries feature changing exhibitions, so there’s always something new to see.

Family Fridays – Guided Hikes at Evergreen Brickworks – August 13th – 7pm

Join Evergreen Brickworks for a family friendly guided walk as we explore the trails of the Weston Family Quarry Garden & Don Valley Brick Works Park. Learn more about Toronto’s Don Valley and the creatures that inhabit it. These programs are led by Evergreen’s outdoor educators and are small scale to keep everyone safe. Hikes will last approximately for 1 hour and are open to all ages.

Family Music and Movement with EarlyON – Aug 17th – 10am

This online program explores the joy of music through interactive, musical based activities. Instruments and props are used as we learn new songs and rhymes together. In partnership with EarlyON Oshawa. For parents/caregivers with children aged 0-6 years.

Markham Family Fun Day – Aug 15th – 5pm
