This week is Canadian National Exhibition week! Due to Covid, this year is a virtual event. Amongst our line up this week, there is fun at the farm, some live music events, and a great exhibition at the ROM. Have a fun Labour Day weekend!
Honey Harvest – Forsythe Family Farms – Sept 4th-5th

Over Labour Day weekend, Forsythe Family Farms are taking time to celebrate the hard work of their honey bees and appreciate the sweet taste of summer. Enjoy a variety of activities focusing on bees and honey using all your senses along with all the usual weekend activities. Sample the summer honey harvest tasting the sweet treat from our bees. Check out the beehives. Sing their honey bee song. Dress up like a bee. See the tools they use to harvest honey. Bee creative in their craft corner.
General Admission includes the barnyard play area, tranquillity trail, ‘On the Greens’ scavenger hunt, tractor ride, corn maze/sunflower walk, and more!

CNE Connected – 2021 – Labour Day weekend 2022

The Canadian National Exhibition is virtual this year and is offering free fun things to do and join in with. They are also offering some paid content which includes your 2022 ticket in advance. We will miss the food court of course, but at least we get to see the SuperDogs!

Great Whales Up Close and Personal – ROM – to March 20th

If you are thinking of travelling downtown this Labour Day weekend, consider a stop at the Royal Ontario Museum for a spectacular exhibition! Showcasing the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale, the Blue whale and the deep diving sperm whale. With mutli-sensory interactives and immersive experiences, Great Whales compares these three unique giants, from their size and diet to their intelligence and evolution, while highlighting the extensive ongoing research and conservation efforts being undertaken to save these mammals from extinction. The ROM invites you to dive in and discover these incredible great whales of Canada’s east coast, their complex relationships with humans, and what we can do to save them.

Music on the Street – Main St Unionville – Sept 4th & 5th

Matthew Hinojosa is the founder and lead singer/guitar player of Jammer’s Waffle House, through which he has performed at major events and venues and recorded several albums that have been featured on the radio and charted. He is also a versatile musician filling in for acts including Scratchnasty in Toronto where he plays bass in a rock and roll trio.

Dylan Smith is a Canadian Visual and Performing Artist. He is a graduate of Wexford Collegiate and Centennial College. He has performed at many events including the Black History Celebration at Queens Park and with Fred Penner, one of his mentors. He was featured on CTV Your Morning performing his song, dedicated to Frontline Workers. Dylan sings R&B, Pop, Reggae, Urban, Soul, Disco & Gospel.
Concert in the Parking Lot – Sept 2nd – 7pm

Tribute Band Grace 2 celebrates the music of Tragically Hip and honors the legacy of the late Gord Downie. A drive-in concert experience in Richmond Hill Go Station’s overflow parking lot.
